On Thursday July 19, 2012, supporters, volunteers, and leaders of the No Wall on the Waterfront Campaign gathered at City Hall to submit 31,371 signatures from San Francisco voters supporting the right of the voters to decide the fate of the 8 Washington Project and the proposed huge height increase on the San Francisco waterfront.
On Wednesday, August 1, 2012, the SF Department of Elections Officially Certified the 8 Washington/Waterfront Referendum for the ballot. This was an historic event -- the first time a voter referendum challenging a decision by City Hall has qualified for the ballot in San Francisco in over 20 years.
Now the voters get to decide.
